Morrison Model 13 The Leprechaun

This new smaller Model 13 continues the tradition of music reproduction in the home. Like their larger brothers (Model 29ʼs) they are for those wishing to listen to music. Not speakers.
This point source omnidirectional design is offered to those with a limited budget or space constraints. Small rooms or condos can become a spacious listening environment using the Model 13ʻs.
The proliferation of wireless tiny boxes with their annoying sound reproduction can be very discouraging.
A pair of Leprechauns is the antidote.
Do you ever wonder why less than 10% of the population attends live concerts?
Heaven knows thereʼs plenty of opportunity if youʼre living anywhere near a large city. The experience with the musicians who help us connect with Mozart, or Gershwin or dear old Bach can be a delight.
Itʼs the connection that we seek. Getting lost in the music can be an escape from the daily grind.
What was Haydn thinking when he developed the concept of the string quartet?
How did Beethoven create his 9th symphony when he was totally deaf?
And how did Fats Waller and Andy Razaf manage to sell the music rights to the same composition to 3 different publishers at the same time?
Hint: nimble feet, no internet, and lots of scotch.
If youʼve lived with a stereo system that uses front firing “box” type of speakers youʼve been missing out on the spaciousness and natural presentation of a Point Source Omnidirectional speaker system.

The upper frequencies of the Model 13 are identical to the Model 29 above 1 K hZ as the same tweeter and spherical housing method is used for both models.
The cabinet body is 9.5 inches square by 15.5 inches tall. The protective cover or “hat” adds another 5.5 inches.
Total weight with isolation stand is about 35 Lbs.
The isolation stand elevates the cabinet 3.75 inches off the floor.
Overall 2 feet tall. About the same size and heft as a mature leprechaun. Hat included.

The Model 13 like itʼs larger brother wonʼt win any beauty contests. The laws of physics and acoustics determine the shapes and sizes to wring out optimum performance. There are no bits of bling nor any whirling trinkets to impress the innocent.
These loudspeakers are for the grownup music lover.
The impedance graph of the Model 13 shows a smooth curve with a gradual rise at resonance to about 15 ohms max. The minimum impedance is 6 ohms at 150 hZ. There are no typical midband impedance bumps, dips or squiggles which would reveal the presence of unwanted resonances and phase anomalies.
In other words, no singing cabinets.
The point source omnidirectional signal launch pattern augmented by a solid resonant free enclosure is one of the secrets of a disappearing speaker.

The listener is not distracted by the “hi fi” colorations and thump, tizz and boom of typical conventional speaker boxes.
Due to the laws of physics and acoustics the Model 13 and 29 speakers are the only design currently on the market which allow music lover to be immersed in the music instead of the equipment.

We donʼt guess. We measure.
